How to use CGDI BMW to do Cas3+ all key lost

We listed the steps here for how to use CGDI BMW Programmer to do all key lost programming for BMW CAS3+.

Tools you need:

CGDI BMW MSV80 Programmer
CG100 PROG III

Procedures:

Step 1:Read ECU EEPROM

Run CG100 software,enter menu to select “ECU”

Select “BMW E Series and then MEVD1724(N20)

After then CG100 software will show the wire connection diagram as below,you need to build the connection according to the diagram.

Click “Read EEPROM”

After data reading successfully,save the EEPROM data on your laptop.

Step 2:CGDI BMW Programming Key

Connect CGDI BMW Programmer to vehicle by OBD port,then select “BMW OBD Key Match”

Click “Read Key info”

Pull out the key from the ignition when it prompt you as below massage

Then save the data file

Select the key position to program and then click “Generate dealer key ” to continue

Now,here it will prompt you to enter ISN

Select “have engine data,the next step will load the engine data”

Load the engine data read out the CG100 in step 1

Put the new blank key into the CGDI BMW coil,then click “OK” to continue

It will prompt you that “Whether the key currently programmed is a smart key”

Note:If it is a smart key,the key will be locked.

Click “No” to continue

Wait a second minute,it will show the programming key was successfully

What is SVCI DoIP ?

SVCI DoIP is a special vehicle inspection tool for Jaguar Land rover models, it’s manufactured by BAOCHI.

It can work with SDD2 and Pathfinder software, which can achieve all the functions of these two software, it includes diagnostic, program ,immobilizer, change  CCF configuration and special function etc. By the way, the original DoIP device can achieve the function, SVCI DoIP can also achieve.

How to install PATHFINDER software for STC SVCI DoIP:
Step 1: Before installing the software, you need to make sure the C drive has a capacity of more than 250GB.
Step 2: Access to software download center http://www.flyobd.com/shop/download-center/
Step 3: Selection “Pathfinder” item and download pathfinder installer
Step 4: Double-click the file that you download and saved, and then install it.
Step 5: The pathfinder installer will automatically prompt you to download and update the software and files you need to install pathfinder(The automatic download and installation will takes up to 24 hours according to network download speed).

 
How to install JLR SDD software for STC SVCI DoIP :
Step 1:Download software from http://diagnosticdelivery.jlrext.com/idscentral/
Step 2:Selection the “SDD_xxx_Full.exe” file, download and save it.
Step 3:Double-click the “SDD_xxx_Full.exe” file and install it.
Step 4:Selection SDD2-“QuickLoader” item from http://www.flyobd.com/shop/download-center  download and install it.
Step 5:Double-click the “SDD2 “QuickLoader”.exe” file and install it.

How to connect STC SVCI DoIP to a Jaguar or Land Rover
After installing the software, you need to connect the equipment to the computer using a USB cable.
Then connect the OBD interface of the vehicle through SVCI DoIP device,
or connect the OBD interface of the vehicle and the equipment through the OBD extension cord.

Pathfinder and SDD, what’s the difference?

1.The JLR Pathfinder software
(You must have a online account to work with it; obd2tool.com won’t offer it)
It is the only unit that will be compatible with the Pathfinder software and all JLR vehicles with the new vehicle architectures found in 2017 and newer vehicles (from the Range Rover/Range Rover Sport L405/L494). In addition to the 2017 and newer vehicles, the JLR DoIP VCI will also be capable of interfacing with 2014 through 2016 Multi-CAN architecture vehicles (see application list below).

2.The SDD software
(If you want to do programming, you must have an online account)
All 2014-2017 with no DOIP and earlier (2006 to 2014) land rover and Jaguar will still use the JLR SDD software.

Why we use JLR Pathfinder instead of SDD?

The reason for SDD being retired and Pathfinder being introduced is more because of the contract with Ford expiring, as the SDD is based on the Ford?IDS, so JLR has to pay Ford to keep using it.

The major change to the cars themselves is the infotainment system, the Next Generation Infotainment (NGI) is an ethernet-based system, vs the older MOST fibre-optic infotainment i.e. the IAM2.1

So yeah, you could not (easily or economically) retrofit the NGI system into an IAM2.1 car, for example. The components and network are totally different.

But… the NGI has been in some JLR vehicles since 2016, and is supported by SDD. There will be a cutoff where new models are no longer supported by SDD and only by Pathfinder. But Pathfinder also works on older vehicles too, back to 2014MY (approximately).

Pathfinder and SDD, which ishould be used for JLR diagnosis or programming?

What JLR car models are covered by STC SVCI DoIP?
Note: All Jaguar and Land Rover models produced after 2016 can work with pathfinder software;
SVCI DoIP will constantly update sw for the latest JLR models.

How to use STC SVCI DoIP diagnostic tool?
If you want to use the SVCI DoIP device normally, you have to download and install three software:
Pathfinder, SDD2 and SDD2 “QuickLoader” software.

These three software can be installed in the same operating system together,
and when you use SDD2 software,  you have to open it from the SDD2 “QuickLoader” software.
And when the software is installed, the device needs to be connected to the laptop and vehicle.

The Pathfinder software is primarily intended for Jaguar Land rover models manufactured in 2017 and beyond,
The SDD2 software is mainly aimed at Jaguar Land rover 2016 years models and before.
